COUPLES WHO ROCK
A Climbing Clinic For Couples

"How about doing something new together as a couple for every year that you are together? Rock climbing can be that activity "

The Pfurr's on Tripod Rock
Jennifer Pfurr spots her husband Dave on a 'boulder' problem at Tripod Rock County Park, Morris County, New Jersey.
Rock climbing is a great vehicle for self-esteem because of the buddy system involved, known as "belaying".  Belaying is an anchoring system performed by two people, where each person is tied into the opposite end of the climbing rope, then secured by one of the climbers.  Each partner is essential to the other, communicating through verbal cues as the belayer is controlling the ropes tension on the climber. The sport builds confidence and develops personal growth. Develop "fear control" as you conquer climbing.

Couples will experience trust and practice vital communication as they help each other scale a rock wall.  Couples will need to provide mutual support as they discover how to work as a successful climbing team.  Each couple will leave the clinic having learned a new and valuable insight about their relationship that can only have been learned from taking part in a new experience.

This clinic will be conducted at Allamuchy Mountain State Park in Stanhope, New Jersey (weather permitting).
