'Parenting Survival Kit' Workshop
Have you lost
your parenthood instruction booklet, not to mention your "marbles,
memory, patience, hair and sense of humor?
Your child's disruptive behavior may be a cry for help with internal
emotional stress. Perceived laziness, irresponsibility, lack of
motivations, poor grades may be warning signs of several possibilities,
including feelings of sadness, simple anxiety or undiagnosed learning
disability.
Disruptive behavior in the home or school may be due to low
self-esteem, emotional distress with peers, social isolation, family
loss, sibling rivalry, fears about their safety or simply attempts to
adjust to changes in the family.

Conflict with
children are commonly found related to:
Homework
Chores or keeping the room clean
TV, ipod, computer, cell phone, video game usage
Going to bed or getting up for school
Clothing choices
Choice of friends
Curfew

What Is Depression? Do I Have It?
Do you know someone you care about that is feeling
depressed or maybe you are worried that your feeling blue is getting
worse?
The information on depression can be confusing and leave you not really
knowing how to help a loved one or get help for yourself. Come bring a
family member or friend, you will leave feeling hopeful, not hopeless.
Knowledge is power and the more you know about how you are feeling the
better you will be able to take care of yourself.
Ever wake up and find that all you want
to do is stay in bed all day?
Maybe you feel exhausted no matter how much sleep you get.
Is your stomach queasy and do your muscles feel sore for no reason?
Do you feel blue or hopeless?
Have you ever asked yourself the question, 'Am I depressed?' ?
There is a
difference between feeling depressed and being depressed. This
workshop will answer all your questions.
You will learn...
- The signs and symptoms of each age group -
Child, Teen, Adult & Senior.
- The best way to help a child, spouse, parent
grandparent, or friend who you are worried about!
- The difference between feeling blue and
depression, between situational and major depression.
- How to identify what is truly a sign or symptom
and how to get the help you need.

Separated And Divorced Support Systems
No one who marries ever thinks their marriage will
end in divorce. Our society is NOT providing couples with
the coping skills they need to take care of these issues. More and more
couples are struggling with raising their children in stress free homes
and staying healthy in the process.
This course will provide you the emotional support you need to take
care of your families.
Are you trying to
work through a maze of decisions about:
Single parenting
Finances, employment decisions
Child custody
Remarriage and blended families
Family reactions to the news
Visitation
Legal conflicts
Single life
Managing holiday and special events schedules
We will discuss the
specific needs of the children when they learn
about the separation and how to work to support them as they adjust to
the divorce. Starting with reassuring children that the divorce is not
their fault to supporting them when they worry about which parent to
say hello to first after a little league baseball game to parenting
teens whose busy schedules make them rebel against the visitation
schedule.
For parents, we will talk about how to
stay healthy when you feel exhausted or worry if there will be enough
money, and how to eat, sleep and exercise when you are so angry and
hurt you could scream.
